Join us for the first-ever live online Tinkergarten experience

by Emily Helfgot

What is it?

On Tuesday, March 17th at 11:30 am ET/8:30am PT, we’ll host our first ever live online Tinkergarten experience, designed with you, your children, and lots of time at home in mind. The session will take place outside and includes a welcome, a Come to Tinkergarten singalong, a warm-up for all your senses, a couple of tidbits for parents about the thinking behind the play, and an activity for the whole family to do together right on the spot! RSVP here.

Why are we doing this?

No matter how COVID-19 is impacting each of our lives, we are all managing new challenges. And, in a world of social distancing, we can’t draw on our village of friends and elders for the usual in-person support.

We want to help! Each week we’re providing activities, advice and virtual community to help families continue to thrive during this challenging time — a time when we need healthy, inspiring outdoor play with kids and community more than ever!

An exciting part of that support is our new weekly online Tinkergarten play session. So join us from your backyard, your stoop, or your kitchen table. These 20 minutes are designed to inspire a whole week of play!

When is it?

Tuesday, March 17th at 11:30am EST.

The live session itself should go for about 20 minutes, then you and your kids can keep playing as long as you like! And, if you download this week’s @Home DIY Activities, you’ll find age-appropriate extension ideas that can carry through the whole week.

Who’ll be there?

Tinkergarten Co-Founder, Meghan Fitzgerald will be leading the session with the help of her Explorers!

...and you! Plus the big and little people around you who join in!

Where do I go?

Join us on Facebook Live. Watch us on a phone from an outdoor spot of your choice. Or, watch us inside — and then bring the ideas outside later on.

What do I need?

  • A device to get online
  • A spot outside (or inside)
  • At least one (and no more than 100) cardboard box(es)
  • Any participating family members, all ages welcome
  • Don't know Come to Tinkergarten song? Don't worry! We'll teach you, and you can do the moves as you learn! You can also download the song here.

How do I join a Zoom meeting?

You do not have to have a Zoom account to attend a Zoom meeting or interview. You will be prompted to download the software, once you have clicked on the link to a meeting. You may also wish to create an account, but that is not required to participate in a Zoom meeting.
